Odds & Ends #019

scones

Hello there! Hope your Friday is amazing and your weekend is off to a great start! I’m on cold meds right now so if what I am typing makes no sense you know why. I came down with a nasty cold on Wednesday and not even the 101 fever stopped me from heading out that evening to a local bar to watch the Chicago Cubs win the World Series- #WorthIt. And now I have scientifically proven that 4 beers will break a fever – or at least make you forget that you’re sick. I start my Fundamentals for Accounting – Part Deux* tomorrow so hopefully I am feeling much better by then. In the meantime I’m going to take it easy by drinking some ginger lemon tea with honey for my throat and avoid the Election Day press by watching videos of old Cubs’ fans reacting to their team winning the championship after 108 years.

Great tips on detoxing after a candy and alcohol filled week.

A moving ad of what makes the U.S. great.

How to look better in photos.

I started binge watching Murder, She Wrote – I know – and I lived during the time when all these things were still a thing yet it I can’t watch a whole episode of an old show with out saying “That would never happen today” or “Why can’t he/she just text them!” or “Has anyone ever looked into why all these people are dying around J.B. Fletcher?”

I want to try this appetizer out the next time I have friends over.

I really want to try out this whole wardrobe capsule idea that has been floating around which means I have to do a major wardrobe overhaul. Have you tried it? I’ve been on step one – taking everything out of one’s closet – for weeks now. Maybe this Sunday I can finally get it together enough to put a capsule together.

Not gonna lie, some of my favorite plans are those that are cancelled last minute. This makes it much more interesting.

Seriously. My waistline and my credit cards can’t take it any longer! #ElectionAnxietyMadeMeDoIt

I would love this so much!!

Have a wonderful weekend everybody!!

Xx

  1. I’m doing a nutrition/detox plan (which of course consists of no sweets/bread for the first 14 days)… So of course, the scones pic is torture! I bet they are as tasty as they look. 😀 I’ll eat them with my eyes! lol
