Labor Day weekend – the unofficial last weekend of summer is here! And I couldn’t be more excited as I am not a fan of summer. I am so excited for the weather to cool down, start wearing sweaters and boots and not have my make-up melt off the second I walk out the door. I’ll be driving down to visit my parents in San Diego this weekend and I hope to finally make it over to a local winery. And if I am lucky enough to find a ticket, I want to make it out to see Boston Red Sox vs. San Diego Padres. It will be my last time seeing Big Papí play with my beloved Red Sox so it will be a bittersweet Labor Day.
So what do you have planned for the holiday? Do you go all out and celebrate big or take it easy and kick it by the pool? Still no plans? I’d love to know!
In the meantime here are some Odds & Ends:
Sunday afternoon, I – along with millions of fans- was surprised to hear about the death of a Mexican icon, Juan Gabriel. I have been playing his music non-stop this week that I am 90% sure my Irish upstairs neighbor is fluent in Mexican melancholic lyrics by now.
This was one of my favorite books growing up. I literally read the first copy to shreds and had to get a second copy which is pretty bad condition. I never got the chance to watch any of the T.V./film adaptations going up as we didn’t have regular T.V. growing up so I am super excited for this. Thanks Netflix!
I can honestly attest that this is true. I’ve done extensive research on their Kirkland Signature wine selection and the Côtes du Rhône Villages (my fave!) and the Chianti Riserva are excellent!
My friend L has to get to work on her own version of this for her little hamster buddy. So cute!!
I would like to think this is true. Hahaha!
It is sharing stories like this that show other women that they are not alone in their pain and it encourages them to be proactive in their healthcare.
Those of you who know me personally (or have read my bio), will understand how much I love the second parody image.
Wow. And I thought I was good at packing!
I don’t know about you, but I prefer to drink my Moscow Mules.
The last time I played hide-and-seek with my nephew, he made me put a toy motorcycle right next to the spot I was hiding at so that it would make it easier for him to find me. When I protested against it, stating the obvious – “That’s cheating!” He said, “It’s not cheating. It’s called winning.” I wonder what the judges of this event would think of his tactics…
And last but not least, take a look at this beaut, the console used by The Beatles at Abbey Road Studios is up for sale. The video is filmed like it’s soft porn or something. Ha!
Have an amazing and safe Labor Day weekend everyone!
Until next week,
